Came on a busy day- the kitchen was out of a few items. At our table, we ordered:
-pâté
-fromage plate
-escargot
-bouillabaisse
-mussels
-crab cakes
The cheese selection was all very good, and the escargot was buttery and cooked well. Personal preference - I would prefer a different sauce for the crab cakes other than the flavored mayo, especially since they are served with a salad. The mussels are very good - again, would prefer thinner frites with the mussels.
Given the location and constant NYC crowd, it's not always an ideal situation for a more local dining experience. The outdoor seating is a plus, though. -

My friend was ecstatic and recommend this place. The wait wasn't that long but the food was not good. I ordered the French onion soup, crab cake, and side of brussel sprouts.
The French onion soup was bland and not completely hot. There was no depth in the flavor. The crab cakes were really deep fried and the brussel sprouts were drenched in oil. Overall I would not recommend The food here.
Service was good and there is a little bit of charm, but would not come here again. -

What a disappointment! The food was meh and the service below average. Waited too long for the food. Got 'tude served up with my steak au poivre. The steak was tough, the Cassoulet a joke and the beet salad embarrassing. Also, they slapped an auto 20% gratuity since we were a party of 5 (I guess they considered my toddler a whole 5th person). Happy to tip if they deserved it but they really didn't. Bravo! Got to hand it to them; a brilliant way to treat people like crap and still get your full tip!
There are so many adorable spots along that street. It's obnoxious to think they can get away with sub par service given all the options available. Take your money and your appetite elsewhere. Thank you, next! -

Outstanding meal on a quiet pre-Labor Day evening ... everything about the place was a delight.. Chris, our server, was engaging, knowledgeable, attentive without hovering... just genuinely charming. We had the Escargot, a seasonal Heirloom Tomato salad in a subtle Balsamic dressing; the Steak au poivre was tender and wonderfully peppery and the Steak Frites equally satisfying... we had no time for dessert as we were on our way to a play at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (which was not as delightful as the performance at Bouchon)... Totally worth the Five Stars.. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the Soft Shell
Crab or the Cassoulet... hoping I get the time in the Fall to travel to Cold Spring for another helping. -

Just had lunch with my family at Brasserie ale Bouchon.
Very mediocre.
Mac& Cheese, bland by any standard. Hanger steak sandwich and fries. Fries were fine hanger steak was tough and grizzly which is odd for that cut. Not sure it was really the skirt steak/ hanger steak cut.
The Tuna was very tough and over cooked. We sent the tuna back the piece that came back was also not rare and was also tough.
As for service it was slow. Asked for ice 5 times, kept having to request multiple times. Would never go back.
